Kamal Shah is a director for platform architecture management in Intel’s client computing group where he is responsible for requirements engineering aspects of the Intel’s client platforms. He has participated in and managed a variety of projects at Intel including in the areas of device driver design for Intel’s real time operating system, automated validation, IP communication, and platform power reduction. He successfully secured internal venture funding to launch an Internet Call Waiting Service during the early phases of dial-up internet connectivity. During the early days of wi-fi revolution, he was responsible for managing a team of technologists that supported Intel Capital driven investment of ~$100 million dollars in various companies to deliver to the vision of all day and beyond of battery life for mobile PCs. He is also a chairman of an industry wide working group focused on efforts to extend battery life of mobile PC. He holds MS in Computer Engineering from University of Texas at Austin and is an author of two granted patents.
